ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan petrol price rose by Rs1.63 to Rs335.81 per litre for Wednesday, July 29, while high-speed diesel increased by Rs1.55 to Rs388.38.

The Petroleum Division published the petroleum products price notification on Tuesday, confirming another revision under the new daily pricing mechanism.

Petrol previously cost Rs334.18 per litre. The former high-speed diesel rate stood at Rs 386.83 per litre, according to figures notified.

The government had separately increased kerosene by Rs1.96 to Rs303.10 per litre under an earlier notification.

Federal Minister for Petroleum Ali Pervaiz Malik said the daily system uses a rolling average of international prices from the preceding seven days.

The federal cabinet introduced daily revisions amid volatility in international oil markets and renewed hostilities in the Middle East. Pakistan had switched from fortnightly to weekly reviews after the regional conflict began in February.

Under the new framework, the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) can calculate and announce daily ex-depot prices without obtaining approval for every revision. Friday’s notified prices will remain in effect over the weekend.

The Petroleum Division said the formula-based system aims to improve transparency and align domestic fuel prices more closely with market conditions.
