The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has announced about 82 paisas per unit reduction in power tariffs.
A public hearing over a petition of the Central Power Purchasing Agency (CPPA) was held. The CPPA in its request had pleaded decrease in the per unit price of power for all power distributing companies (DISCOs).
The CPPA told the regulatory authority (NEPRA) that power production had decreased in May and prices of furnace oil also went down, therefore, cost of power production had decreased.
The CPPA recommended at least 82 paisas per unit decrease in electricity tariff.
