According to sources, NAB (National Accountability Bureau) has started investigating Karachi University’s current and former Vice Chancellor.
As per details obtained from NAB sources, the bureau is currently carrying out an investigation against Karachi University’s Vice Chancellor Dr Qaisar and former Vice Chancellor Dr Pirzada Qasim. Furthermore, it was revealed that statements of four suspicious persons from the administration block, had also been recorded.
NAB’s investigating officer has taken into his custody all relevant records from the Vice Chancellor’s office.
Dr Muhammad Qaisar was appointed as the Vice Chancellor of Karachi University on February 10, 2012. His tenure as the Vice Chancellor of the university was to end on February 9 of this year however, Governor Ishrat-ul-Ibad extended his tenure with the powers vested in him as the Chancellor of Karachi University.
