Mayor Murtaza Wahab has ordered restaurants on Burns Road to receive warning notices for improper garbage disposal. The Sindh Solid Waste Management Board (SSWMB) and Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) officers will jointly take legal action and impose fines on those who fail to comply with the laws.

A team of officials from the SSWMB and KMC visited Burns Road Food Street. It issued warnings to several eateries, including Mazedar Haleem, Karachi Haleem, Platter House, Waheed Kabab, Anwar Sajji, Haji Rubri, and Food Centre, for littering.

They also advised other restaurants and shopkeepers to use dustbins instead of discarding garbage outdoors.

Under the KMC Act, establishments that do not follow these rules within three days of receiving their notices will face fines. Social mobilizers are raising awareness in the area and on food streets with megaphones.
