Seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton emerged unscathed from a crash during his second test with Ferrari at the Formula One private testing in Barcelona on Wednesday.
Hamilton, who recently joined Ferrari after a 12-year tenure at Mercedes, lost control of the 2023 car and collided with the barriers at the Circuit de Catalunya. Despite the setback, a team source confirmed to AFP that Hamilton was “absolutely OK” and was still testing the car’s limits.
Hamilton is gearing up for the 2025 season with his teammate Charles Leclerc, with their first race set for March at the Australian Grand Prix. The British driver’s move to Ferrari began last week, featuring encouraging laps at the Fiorano test track near Ferrari’s headquarters in Maranello.
Ferrari is set to reveal their new car on February 19 at Fiorano, after the Formula One season opener in London, which celebrates the sport’s 75th anniversary.
