PHILADELPHIA: LeBron James helped the Philadelphia 76ers erase a 29-point deficit in his first regular-season home game for the team on Thursday.
Philadelphia beat the Cleveland Cavaliers 114-106 and improved to 2-0. The comeback was the Sixers’ largest in the play-by-play era. It was also the biggest comeback win of James’ career.
James finished with 17 points, 10 rebounds, five assists and three steals in 33 minutes. Tyrese Maxey led Philadelphia with 32 points. Jaylen Brown added 21 points, including 17 after halftime.
Philadelphia trailed 69-45 at the break after committing 15 turnovers. Sections of the home crowd booed the team as the players left the court. “We got the boos.
That was amazing, and we deserved it,” James said. The mood changed quickly after halftime. James helped fuel an 11-0 run to open the third quarter.
