In occupied Kashmir, the death toll in the ongoing Kashmir Intifada has risen to 56 as four more injured, including a woman, succumbed to their injuries.

The curfew other restrictions imposed by Indian authorities entered 17th day on Monday, crippling life in the disputed valley.

Over 5,000 people have been injured due to the use of brute force by Indian troops and police on peaceful protesters during the past 16 days in the territory.

The puppet authorities continued to put all Hurriyet leaders under detention.

“Hurriyet leaders have extended the shutdown call till Friday”

The Chairman All Parties Hurriyet Conference, Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik, in a joint statement in Srinagar, reiterated the call for holding the programme in Anantnag Islamabad district, on Monday, to pay homage to the martyrs of Kashmir.

The leaders also extended the shutdown call till Friday (July 29). On the other hand, protests continued to be held across the globe, including some Indian states, against the killing of Kashmiri people by Indian forces.

The Kashmir Study Forum, Sri Lanka, along with Pakistani and Sri Lankan community organized a peaceful demonstration in front of the United Nation Office at Baudaloka Mawatha .

Similar protest demonstrations were held in France, Germany and Sweden. The participants urged the UN Secretary General to encourage, facilitate and support efforts leading to a peaceful resolution to the Kashmir dispute. (APP)
