A grenade attack on a police compound in Bheempura left at least 15 persons including a woman and children wounded in Karachi today evening.
The Salar Compound houses residential quarters for the families of policemen. its peace was shattered after the explosion struck and that too, at a time when children were playing outside their homes, a police official told the media.
According to sources, the attackers, who made their getaway easily after hurling the bomb, may have wanted to target Risala Police Station located next to the compound the grenade landed in.
“There are at least six children and a woman among those who have sustained injuries in the attack,” another police official said.
