Karachi: Several political figures and high government officers have been found involved in land-grabbing scandal in Karachi, according to recent outrageous revelations disclosed by the country’s premier investigation agency.
The mega scandal surfaced after builders in custody with the security forces including Babar Chughtai, Mujeebullah Siddiqui and Faisal Masroor Siddiqui divulged secret information during the interrogations.
Following an exhaustive investigations with the arrested builders, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) drew up a list of people involved in illegal land business. Name of Sindh governor Dr. Ishrat-ul-Ebad is also included among the political figures.
It should be mentioned here that it is for the first time that Governor Ebad’s name came to the fore in any mega scandal unveiled in the FIA report.
The other political names are Babar Ghauri, Muhammed Anwar, Adil Siddiqui, Muhammed Ahsan alias Chunnu, former Sindh minister for Local Bodies Owais Muzaffar, former Sindh Home Minister Zulfiqar Mirza, Qadir Magsi, Nurud Din and Muhsin Sheikhani.
The government officials include Sindh Building Control Authority (SCBA) Manzoor Qadir, Principal Secretary to Governor Sindh Muhammed Hussain Syed, DSP Javed Abbas, SP Irfan Bahadur, former KMC Administrator Hashim Raza Zaidi, KDA director Najmuz Zaman and former director KDA Land Saif Abbas.
The report said Owais Muzaffar took huge bribe for illegal land allotments.
According to sources, the people on this list will soon be arrested.
