Newly appointed Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General Zubair Mahmood Hayat has taken over the charge from outgoing General Rashad Mahmood.
Gen Hayat, who has become the 17th CJCSC of Pakistan, was presented with a guard of honour at a ceremony attended by all chiefs of staff, including outgoing army chief Gen Raheel Sharif. Incoming army chief Gen Qamar Javad Bajwa was also present on the occasion.
The reception ceremony was held here early this morning at Joint Staff Headquarters where top brass from three armed forces were in attendance.
General Zubair inspected the guard of honor and was given a salute by a smartly turned out contingent from three armed forces.
Newly appointed Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa also attended the ceremony. He will take over the charge of Pakistan Army tomorrow
