Jehlum: Five family members including four women drowned after a car plunged into a canal early Monday morning.
According to police, the tragedy struck when driver lost control over the car driving through amid a powerful thunderstorm near Sarai Alamgir located on the eastern bank of the Jhelum River.
According to police sources there were no survivors and that they were trying to ascertain the reason of accident. The police official also added that the victims were going back to their native town in Azad Kashmir after attending the funeral of a relative here on Sunday.
According to latest reports pouring in from Sarai Alamgir, the bodies were handed over to the families, who reached the site as the word spread.
