Frontier Corps Balochistan and law-enforcement agencies in Barkhan on Tuesday foiled a terror bid in a joint operation.
According to FC spokesman, FC foiled a terror holed up in Barkhan area to sabotage plan to on Independence Day.
The spokesman said ten mortar shells, four landmines, two anti-tank landmines, remote-control devices and other bomb making gadgets were recovered in the raid.
Meantime, the FC and LEAS earlier conducted a search operation in Kalwa area of Hoshab Turbat, where local commander of a banned outfit Akhtar Nadeem and two of his accomplices were killed in crossfire with security personnel.
Four hideouts of the terrorists were also destroyed during the operation while seven other suspects were detained from the area.
Huge cache of Arms, ammunition, anti-state literature and narcotics were recovered from the dead terrorists hideouts.
The terrorists were involved in attacks on security forces and damage to sensitive installations.
