DERA ISMAIL KHAN, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: A Dera Ismail Khan clash between two rival groups killed six people and injured two others in Hanyala Shah Hassan Khel, police said on Wednesday.
Police said five of the dead belonged to the Ataullah group, while one victim came from the rival faction.
Officers deployed a heavy contingent to the area to restore order and prevent further violence. The clash took place after armed members of the rival groups came face to face in the village.

Police moved into the area after heavy firing left multiple casualties. In a separate incident, unidentified attackers hurled a hand grenade and opened fire at a house in the Wanda Ali area of Kadi Khaisor.

Police said the attack targeted the residence of a man identified as Iqbal. A woman and two children suffered injuries in the grenade attack.
Rescue teams shifted them to a nearby hospital for medical treatment, according to police.

Family members and local residents later protested outside the Superintendent of Police’s office in Paharpur. They demanded immediate arrests and stronger security measures after the attack.
Police said they launched investigations into both incidents. Officers also increased security in the affected areas to stop further unrest.
Police said efforts were continuing to identify and apprehend the attackers involved in the grenade and firing incident.
