Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan today withdrew its reply regarding defamation notice of former Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry.
Senior lawyer and PTI leader Hamid Khan confirmed he had drafted the response on the directive of Imran Khan and later retracted it.
Khan said that he wasn’t aware of the next strategy of PTI chairman.
“Any new lawyer will come forward now to respond to the notice. I have nothing to do with this issue now,” he stated.
On the other hand, Iftikhar Chaudhry’s counsels Sheikh Ahsanuddin and Taufiq Asif said that there was no room in law to take back the reply.
They said that Khan has given clean chit to Chaudhry in his response and his U-turn has embarrassed the senior lawyer.
