Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan thanked the chief of the Army Staff (COAS) Raheel Sharif for granting 20 acres land in Karachi DHA City for the Shaukat Khanum hospital.
Khan in a message on Twitter said “Want to thank COAS Gen Raheel for helping SKMCH by granting land in DHA Karachi for the hospital,”
The PTI chief had announced to build a cancer hospital in Karachi last year. He has also inaugurated a similar hospital project in Peshawar.
The Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital & Research Centre is a non-profit hospital and research centre which aims to provide free treatment to cancer patients without any discrimination.
The hospital was first started in Lahore in 1994 while a second cancer treatment hospital was opened in Peshawar in 2015.
