Chief Minister of Punjab has given a deadline of 24 hours to police for arrest of the culprits who stoned to death a woman outside the Lahore High Court. Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has ordered the police to submit report on daily basis about progress in investigation of Farzana murder case.
Police has arrested four accused of the harrowing incident including a maternal uncle, two cousins of the victim and driver Nasir.
The relatives of the victim 26 year old pregnant Farzana, on May 27, threw bricks at the woman outside the court killing her on the spot. The woman had married to a man of her choice against the wishes of the family.
The key accused of the incident, the father of the victim, was already in the police custody.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif had taken notice of the incident and directed for immediate arrest of the culprits of the heinous crime.
United States State Department has also deplored the stoning incident in Lahore and demanded immediate arrest of the culprits.
