Pakistan’s former president Gen (retd) Pervez Musharraf termed Burhan wani as a great freedom fighter.
In an interview with an Indian channel, the former president of Pakistan said New Delhi would be escalating the conflict to a very serious level if it tries to stop the waters of Pakistan.
He further added that Pakistan was prepared to counter Indian threats and said “Pakistan is not rattled, they are prepared to retaliate,”
“You cannot stop the waters of Pakistan. If you try to stop the waters of Pakistan you are escalating the conflict to a very serious level,” said he.
When asked to comment on the situation in Balochistan, the former military ruler said Indian spy agency Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) was facilitating separatism in Pakistan’s south-western province.
“I believe in promoting peace with India but not at our cost,” he said. He questioned Indian apathy towards the killing of innocent Kashmiris by Indian army and said Burhan Muzaffar Wani, a popular Kashmiri youth, was a great freedom fighter who enjoyed support of the Kashmiri people.
“We must have peace, but let’s give and take, let’s address the core issue…we have to get to the resolution of the cause and the cause happens to be Kashmir,” he said.
