The Bollywood potboiler that would be starring Sridevi; Mom might just end up with two Pakistani Stars.
News of Sajal Aly’s Bollywood debut in this film broke several weeks ago, but a source close to the production has confirmed that Adnan Siddiqui is set to play her father and Sridevi’s husband in the film.
This is Adnan’s second overseas film project, after his role in Mariane Pearl’s memoir adaptation, A Mighty Heart. He also has a key role in Dr Hassan Waqas Rana’s Yalghaar.
Mom also marks Akshay Khanna’s comeback in cinema and stars Nawazuddin Siddiqui in a special appearance. Jazbaa actor Abhimanyu Singh plays a ‘villainous’ character in the film.
The team is said to have wrapped up its spell in India, and is currently shooting in Georgia.
Produced by Sridevi’s husband, Boney Kapoor, the film is touted as a “women-centric film”, in which Sridevi plays a stepmom in conflict with her 18-year old daughter (Sajal Aly).
