The shooter, responsible for the recent murders of a doctor and a factory employee, was arrested late yesterday night after an extensive seal & search operation by the law enforcement agencies.
Reports have it that Rahimuddin alias Raheem landed in the hands of police after they busted Gabol Town, a low-income area in north Karachi.
“After blocking the entry and exit points of the slum hideout, cops searched from house to house before they found his hideout,” sources told the media.
Summing up the crime record of the armed target-killer, the cops said that Rahim was wanted for multiple counts of violent crimes including manslaughter, extortion, possession of illegal arms, armed robberies, kidnapping for ransom, etc.
“Not too long ago he gunned down one Dr Arif. More recently, for failing to meet his exorbitant extortion demands, a factory supervisor, Saleemuddin became a fatal target of potshots fired by the accused. These are the latest of his violent crimes that we know of,” a police official told the media.
Firearms were also recovered in the raid; however, the suspect did not resist the arrest, the police said adding to their statement.
It should be noted that he is the same shooter who was caught on a surveillance camera while killing Saleemuddin in cold blood, in a factory.
Saleem was shot three times, first in the abdomen, second in the leg and third in the head at pointblank range.
Rahim was later identified by his step-mother, who spotted him while watching a local tv channel’s (Samaa TV) broadcast that showed the CCTV footage of the factory shooting.

Further interrogation will be launched in due course, the official said, adding meanwhile the suspect had been taken away to an undisclosed location.
