Singer Taylor Swift paid more than $160,000 for a New York City permit for her wedding with NFL star Travis Kelce at Madison Square Garden, Mayor Zohran Mamdani said Friday.
Mamdani made the remarks when reporters asked whether Swift would reimburse the city for police overtime costs associated with the ceremony.
“Taylor Swift has already paid the cost of the permit that was lodged, which was over $160,000 for that event and for the response to that event,” Mamdani said.
The wedding took place over two days in Manhattan. It drew hundreds of celebrities and required police to shut down streets around Madison Square Garden.
