NEW YORK: US markets rose Tuesday, with the Nasdaq up 1.43% to 26,188.69 and the S&P 500 up 0.78% to 7,498.21.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 151.70 points, or 0.29%, to 52,334.44. The Russell 2000 rose 15.78 points, or 0.52%, to 3,026.20.
Barron’s reported that the rally broadened across major indexes, with the Nasdaq leading gains and the Dow on course for a record close.
MarketWatch data also showed the S&P 500 and Nasdaq higher on Tuesday as U.S. equities extended gains from the previous session.

The Cboe Volatility Index fell 1.06 points, or 6.01%, to 16.59. Gold rose USD 8.60, or 0.21%, to USD 4,047.50.
August 2026 crude oil declined USD 1.24, or 1.75%, to USD 69.51. Bitcoin fell USD 1,724.29, or 2.86%, to USD 58,473.77.
The mixed cross-asset move left equities stronger, volatility lower, gold modestly higher and oil below USD 70 per barrel.
