At least four terrorists hailing from the dreaded Umar Khorasani group of outlawed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) have been wiped out during an overnight police encounter in Karachi area of Baldia Town.
According to DSP Ali Raza, personnel of Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) of police launched a sting operation over an intelligence regarding the presence of the TTP terrorists in Ittehad Town area of Baldia. Finding themselves in an unbreakable police cordon, the terrorists opened gunfire at the police party.
In the ensuing gunfight all four terrorists were killed who are believed to be involved in the Wagah bombing that left nearly 50 people dead.
The bodies of the slain terrorists have been shifted to Civil Hospital. Police recovered a huge quantity of firearms and ammunitions from the custody of the slain militants.
The terrorists were present in Karachi for a subversive activity in the megacity, according to police sources.
