At 31, Cat Janice, known for her viral TikTok hit ‘Dance You Outta My Head’ and her singing, succumbed to cancer. The song, inspired by her son, had won over many hearts.
Her relatives shared the news of Cat Janice’s passing on her Instagram. Surrounded by her family at her childhood home, she peacefully succumbed to her illness. Known for her viral TikTok success, her family’s post expressed gratitude for the widespread support. Thanks to her fans, they noted her music’s unexpected reach and role in supporting her son.
Her Instagram will be turned into a memorial by her brother, who will also handle her musical and merchandising endeavours. Additionally, they mentioned her wish to release more art posthumously.
Janice’s cancer journey began in November 2021, marked by a concerning lump. Initially overlooked, the lump’s persistence led to a diagnosis of sarcoma in March. Despite a brief victory over cancer in July 2022, the disease returned. She continued to share her musical journey online.
Upon the cancer’s return, she announced it on social media. By January 10, she was in hospice, having transferred her music’s proceeds to her son, Loren. “Dance You Outta My Head” was a final gift inspired by moments with Loren.
The song’s creation was spontaneous, from a car ride with her son. Their collaboration resulted in a tune that, to her surprise, climbed the iTunes charts.
Her primary aim was to leave a legacy of positivity through her art.
