WASHINGTON: President Donald Trump of the United States predicted on Tuesday that Iran would eventually give up in its war with Washington. However, he said he wasn’t sure Tehran was ready to do so.
Speaking outside the White House after meeting executives from artificial intelligence companies, Trump said Iran was performing poorly in the conflict.
He told reporters “they’ll give up”, but offered no timetable for that prediction. Trump also claimed that more oil had passed through the Strait of Hormuz over the preceding few days than at any previous point.
He provided no volume figures or comparison period. On nuclear weapons, he repeated his confidence that Iran would never acquire them.
Iranian authorities have repeatedly maintained that the country does not seek nuclear weapons. Their position addresses its nuclear intentions; the remarks supplied no Iranian response to Trump’s prediction about the war.
