Actor-producer Yash’s Toxic, with an August 26 release date, is reshaping Kannada film plans, with a report saying producers have left a four-week buffer before its theatrical launch.
Yash confirmed in June that “Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups” will open worldwide on August 26, 2026, after earlier changes to its release schedule.
Kannada filmmakers were avoiding the weeks immediately before “Toxic” to protect screen availability and promotional visibility for their own releases. It linked the strategy to expectations of a large theatrical rollout across Karnataka and other Indian markets.
Directed by Geetu Mohandas, the film was shot simultaneously in Kannada and English. Dubbed versions are planned in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam, extending the release beyond its core Kannada market.

The promotional campaign will enter its next phase on August 8, when the film’s official trailer is scheduled to be released, according to current entertainment-industry reporting. That leaves less than three weeks before the worldwide theatrical opening.

No official Kannada film-industry body or comprehensive release calendar was located, confirming that every local production had cleared the entire four-week period before August 26.
