Police claimed to have arrested a suspect from Islamabad’s vegetable market, minutes after a bomb blast left nearly 20 people dead.
The blast took place in the busy morning hours when dozen of people gather at the market in the federal capital’s Sector I-11.
The powerful blast left some 18 people dead with over 40 others wounded. Acting IG Islamabad, Khalid Khattak said the bomb was concealed in a fruit crate.
He also said five kg ‘high explosives’ were used in the blast which left a 2-foot crater at the site which was littered with blood and human body parts.
No group claimed responsibility of the attack.
