Sindh’s Apex Committee to be held today at 3pm in Karachi was postponed in light of the unavailability of the governor and chief minister.
Corps Commander Karachi Lt Gen Shahid Baig Mirza, Inspector General of Police AD Khawaja and Director General Sindh Rangers Major General Muhammad Saeed will attend the meeting — to be held at the CM House under the chair of Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah— to discuss the progress of the National Action Plan (NAP) and other security-related issues of the province.
Sindh Governor Muhammad Zubair — who is presently in Islamabad owing to the election of the new prime minister — will remain absent from the meeting.
The apex committee earlier met on July 4 to review NAP’s progress.
The meeting was chaired by Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa who expressed satisfaction on the improvement of law and order in the metropolis.
General Bajwa had also suggested improvements in the internal functioning of Sindh police to include induction on merit, availability of young trained leadership and the strengthening of its leadership.
