The Supreme Court will take up today a petition seeking disqualification of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
The petition has been filed by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s Ishaq Kakhwani.
The petitioner seeks disqualification of the prime minister on the grounds that he lied at the floor of the Parliament over army’s role in negotiations with PTI and PAT to end the sit-ins.
A three-member bench of the Supreme Court, headed by Justice Jawad S Khawaha, will start hearing of the petition
The petition states that “for making a wrong statement” on the floor of parliament Prime Minister Nawaz no longer stand sadiq and ameen under Article 62(F) and stands disqualified.
