British politician of Pakistani origin Sayeeda Warsi resigned from her ministry on Tuesday in protest against government policy on ongoing Gaza crisis.
Warsi announced her decision on twitter:
“With deep regret I have this morning written to the Prime Minister & tendered my resignation. I can no longer support Govt policy on #Gaza”
Warsi had taken the position of Senior Minister of State at the Foreign & Commonwealth Office, and Minister for Faith and Communities at the Department for Communities and Local Government.
She was previously Chairman of the Conservative Party and Minister without Portfolio, having joined the Cabinet in 2010.
