QUETTA, Balochistan: Quetta clash left four people dead after armed men and residents confronted each other in the Hina Orak area.
Balochistan Minister for Health Bakht Mohammad Kakar said one injured man was in critical condition after the incident. He said all injured persons were shifted to the Trauma Centre in Quetta for treatment.
Contingents of the Frontier Constabulary, police and other law enforcement agencies reached the area after receiving reports of the clash.
Local residents later staged a sit-in on Airport Road to protest against the attack and the deaths. Kakar said residents were standing with security forces and would confront terrorists together.
He said an emergency had been declared at all government hospitals due to the situation. Balochistan Home Minister Mir Ziaullah Langu later held talks with local tribesmen and protesters.
Langu expressed grief over the deaths of the tribal men and visited Kahna and Orak to review the security situation.

The home minister assured the delegation that a joint law enforcement post would be established in the area.
He said directives had been issued to provide the required arms and other necessary items for the post.
