A major power breakdown hit most areas of Pakistan after a technical fault at Guddu Power Plant today.
According to the National Transmission and Despatch Company Limited (NTDC), a technical problem occurred in the Guddu Power Station due to humidity in the heavy fog.
The load was transferred to other transmission lines as a result of which the system was overloaded affecting many areas in the country.
Various areas of Upper Punjab including Lahore and Multan were plunged into darkness due to the power crisis from 4 a.m.
However, hectic efforts are being made to fully restore the electricity supply.
As per details, the technical fault is likely to be fixed by afternoon, today.
