Provincial Disaster Management Authority Balochistan (PDMA) has launched early warning SMS alert system to the relevant divisional and district level authorities as part of its Risk Deduction Strategy.
“To avoid massive human and property losses, early warning SMS service has been started in the province,” Home Minister Balochistan, Mir Sarfaraz Bugti said while talking to media persons during the ground breaking ceremony of Rescue 1122 building and launch of SMS service here on Monday.
Director General Provincial Disaster Management Authority, Mohammad Hashim Ghilzai was also present on the occasion.
The Home minister said that in order to prevent losses to life and property PDMA is monitoring the weather updates and has initiated SMS alert system to the divisional and district level officials.
“SMS technology will help relevant officials to work out contingency plan and avoid massive human and other damages,” he added.
