Pakistan’s women’s cricket team delivered an impressive performance on Monday, securing a 65-run victory over West Indies.

The victory marked their third consecutive win in the ICC Women’s World Cup Qualifier at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium, bolstering their chances of qualification.

Pakistan, electing to bat first, posted a challenging total of 192 runs. Sidra Amin led the batting efforts with a solid 54-run innings, proving instrumental in setting up the team’s total. Muneeba Ali supported the team with a well-compiled 33 off 60 balls, while contributions from Sidra Nawaz (23) and Aliya Riaz (20) added depth to the score.

West Indies bowlers maintained tight lines, with Hayley Matthews, Karishma Ramharack, and Afy Fletcher each taking a wicket. Despite their controlled bowling, Pakistan’s competitive total set the stage for a challenging chase.

In response, the West Indies batting faltered, collapsing to 126. As Pakistan’s bowlers applied relentless pressure, Aaliyah Alleyne (22) and Shabika Gajnabi (21) were the only batsmen to cross the twenties. Captain Nida Dar led the bowling attack with a three-wicket haul, while Rameen Shamim and Nashra Sandhu contributed two wickets each to dismantle the opposition.

Sidra Amin received the Player of the Match award for her pivotal half-century, which anchored Pakistan’s innings and set a platform for the bowlers to defend a modest total effectively.

Sidra Amin expressed optimism about the team’s prospects, noting, “This win boosts our momentum and brings us closer to qualifying for the main tournament.” Her sentiments reflect the team’s rising confidence as they edge closer to securing a spot in the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup.
