Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly, Syed Khursheed Shah, urged the PML-N government to hold talks with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chief Imran Khan, but said “Pakistan will not shut on Khan’s call,”.
“Both government and Imran Khan are bent upon undermining the country,” said the veteran politician at a press conference.
He criticized the government for refusing to resume negotiations with Imran Khan. “The government must hold talks to find a political solution of this problem, and in either case, the ruling clique will be digging its own grave.”
He claimed that Pakistan would not respond to Imran Khan’s call for countrywide shut down under his ‘Plan C he announced at a major rally in Islamabad on Sunday.
Khan said his party would close the whole of Pakistan on Dec 16 and workers would paralyse major cities including Lahore. He also called for a speedy judicial probe into allegations of systemic ballot-stuffing in the 2013 poll.
