A heated debate is expected over Army’s deployment in the federal capital under Article 245 during National Assembly session today (Monday).
The session will begin at 4:00pm at the Parliament House. The session is considered to be important with reference to ‘Azadi March’ on August 14 announced by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
According to sources, the ruling Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) government decided to deploy Army in Islamabad under article 245 of the Constitution. The decision was taken due to security concerns ahead of PTI’s scheduled rally on August 14th. However, it is probable that the opposition will ask the government to take its decision back during the NA session today.
