KUWAIT CITY, Kuwait: A Kuwait drone attack attributed to Iran damaged a government facility and civilian vehicles on August 1, but caused no casualties, the Defence Ministry said.
Kuwait’s armed forces detected, engaged and destroyed multiple hostile drones that entered the Gulf state’s airspace from dawn, according to Statement No. 82 issued by the military.
Defence Ministry spokesperson Staff Colonel Saud Abdulaziz Al-Atwan said the attack targeted several vital installations.
These included a government facility in northern Kuwait and civilian vehicles belonging to a private company on Bubiyan Island.
Falling debris from the destroyed drones caused material damage, Al-Atwan said. The military reported no deaths or injuries.

The statement did not identify the government facility or private company. It also did not disclose the number or types of drones involved.
Kuwait’s military said it remained on high alert and was coordinating with other authorities to protect the country’s sovereignty, residents and critical facilities.

Gulf Cooperation Council Secretary-General Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi condemned the attack as a violation of Kuwait’s sovereignty. He reaffirmed the six-country bloc’s solidarity with Kuwait, according to an official GCC statement.
