Karachi traffic police personnel fight a man over a parking dispute near PIDC Office in Karachi.

According to local news channel “24 News, Samaa Tv” Shafiq, a resident of Karachi, was apparently stopped by traffic policemen when he tried to park his motorbike in no-parking area.

In the footage on-aired showed the personnel using a helmet while beating the  deranged man, dragging him on the road and throwing punches on his face.

On the incident, SSP Traffic police Faisal Chachar said that an FIR has been lodged against Shafiq, while a traffic policeman, who tortured the motorist, would be suspended.

According to our correspondent, the FIR was registered in Civil Lines police station. The case included provisions of obstructing the state’s affairs, torturing police officials and creating chaos.

“We need to see both sides of the story,” Chachar said, claiming that the man violated the law by parking his vehicle in no-parking zone.

However, he said that the police cops have no right to beat any person and for that matter one of the personnel would be suspended.

Meanwhile, Hafiz Naeemur Rehman, Jamat-e-Islami Karachi’s Ameer, condemning the manhandling of the citizen, demanded to withdraw FIR against the victim.

He appreciated Samaa’s efforts for highlighting the important issue.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Ali Zaidi also expressed hope that action would be taken against the traffic policemen.

He said that no law allows anyone to beat citizens. (PhotoNews/Samaa Tv)
