A 5-month-old girl was allegedly smashed to death by her father in the middle of a heated parental quarrel in Islamabad
“On the face of it the infant succumbed to a seething tiff between two spouses”, sources told the media.
The tragic news left everyone aghast in the locality.
“The commotion the brawling couple kicked up unsettled the whole neighborhood while their baby daughter lay on the bed watching her parents tear each other apart in muted horror”, sources quoted a neighbor as saying.
According to police, the husband lost his nerve and allegedly killed the infant by smashing her to the concrete floor.
“The child died of severe head injuries after being smashed against a hard surface”, a police official said.
Further investigations are underway.
