A leaked video shared by Unbox Therapy on YouTube in April 2025 has revealed what is claimed to be the iPhone 17 Air, Apple’s thinnest smartphone to date.

A dummy model, reportedly sourced from China, features an ultra-slim profile of just 5.65mm, making it thinner than a pencil and significantly slimmer than the 8.75mm iPhone 16 Pro Max. This design can redefine Apple’s smartphone lineup when the device is expected to launch in September 2025.

Host Lewis George Hilsenteger examined the dummy model in the video, praising its pocket-friendly thinness while raising concerns about potential bending risks, which can only be confirmed with the final product.

The iPhone 17 Air is rumoured to feature a single camera lens and a smaller battery, suggesting Apple may prioritise style over performance. These compromises could impact the device’s functionality and battery life, sparking debate among tech enthusiasts.

iPhone 17 Air Series

The iPhone 17 Air leak is among many rumours surrounding Apple’s upcoming lineup. Other leaks have hinted at an extended camera bar for the iPhone 17 Pro, enabling case customisation, and a budget-friendly “e” model. Despite potential limitations, the iPhone 17 Air’s sleek design could appeal to consumers seeking a lightweight, stylish smartphone.

If the leak is accurate, the iPhone 17 Air signifies Apple’s commitment to minimalist design. While the company has not confirmed any details, the device is expected to be unveiled in September, in line with Apple’s usual launch schedule.
