Government of Punjab mulls proposal for consideration of military deployment in Lahore under Article 245 of the constitution.
Sources have said that the provincial government may write a letter to the federal government for calling the army in Punjab to control the law and order situation in the province.
Earlier, Law Minister of Punjab Rana Mashhood had also hinted that the military might be called to control the deteriorating law and order situation in the province.
The centre is currently at a stand-off with opposition parties including Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
PAT has vowedto overthrow the existing political system by the end of August this year.
