The Government of Pakistan imposed ban on 24 outfits including Jamat ud Dawa (JuD) on Thursday.
According to sources, the name of Jamat ud Dawa (JuD) has been included due to United States (US) pressure on the Government of Pakistan. The JuD has been leading different relief campaigns across the country since 2005.
The Government of Pakistan issued a list of 24 different organizations on Thursday declaring all of them to be banned from now onwards.
The list included Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), Lashkar-e-Jhangvi, Jaish e Muhammad, Jamatul Furqan, Hizb ut Tehrir, Sipah-e-Muhammad Pakistan (SSP), Sipah Sahaba Pakistan (SSP), Millat e Islamia, Kher un Nisa International Trust, Jamiat ul Ansar, Tehreek Nifaz Shariyat Muhammadi (TNSM), Lashkar e Taiba, Tehreek-e-Jaffriya, Islamic Movement of Khuddamul Islamia and Islamic Students Movement.
