SKARDU, Gilgit-Baltistan: Four independent winners in the Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly elections have joined the Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party.
Muhammad Anwar Ali, who won GBA-23 Ghanchay as an independent candidate with 10,090 votes, joined the IPP after the elections held ten days ago.
Dr. Asad Shafique, another Ghanchay candidate, also joined the party after winning GBA-24 with 8,092 votes.
Muhammad Dilpazir from GBA-15 Diamer and Aman Ali Amir from Ghizer also announced their decision to join the IPP.

The announcement came during a meeting with Abdul Aleem Khan, IPP chief and Federal Minister for Communications.

Form-49 consolidated final results have been issued for 16 of the 24 constituencies in the Gilgit-Baltistan elections so far.
The available standings place the Pakistan Peoples Party in the lead with 10 seats. The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz has five seats, followed by independents with four, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf-backed candidates with two and Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen with one.
