The Balochistan Election Tribunal today ordered re-election on NA-267 after finding evidence of poll rigging.
During last year’s general elections, the tribunal had rejected the victory of Nawabzada Khalid Magsi as an independent Member of the National Assembly.
Mir Abdul Rahim, an independent candidate, had challenged the election of Magsi pleading before the tribunal that elections on several polling stations were rigged by Magsi’s supporters.
After conducting hearings, the tribunal found the the elections were indeed rigged by Magsi’s supporters.
Tribunal judge Muhammad Kakar ordered the concerned authorities to ensure immediate re-election on the NA seat.
