Bindi Raye presents herself online as a 20-year-old mining worker in Western Australia, but an Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) investigation found the influencer is an artificial-intelligence (AI) creation.
Her Instagram profile directs followers to paid adult content on Fanvue. That subscription page carries an AI label and a description acknowledging the use of the technology.
Fanvue’s head of trust and safety, Rob Haywood, confirmed Raye was an AI creator.
Accounts using the persona had attracted more than 80,000 followers when the investigation appeared on September 24. Their posts depicted the lifestyle of a fly-in, fly-out (FIFO) worker, with mining-related content alongside leisure activities.
Images placed the fictional character at locations including Bluff Knoll and Cottesloe Beach in Perth. These settings formed part of a manufactured account of work and travel.

Haywood said Fanvue internally linked accounts featuring fully artificial personas to verified real people. The investigation did not identify the operator behind Raye.
