Quetta: Ashura security arrangements in Balochistan have been finalised, with more than 30,000 personnel deployed across the province for the 10th Muharram processions, officials said.
More than 17,000 personnel will perform duty in Quetta, Balochistan. They will guard main procession routes, public spaces and the city’s entry and exit points.
Officials said the deployment includes personnel from the District Police, Balochistan Constabulary, Rapid Response Force, Anti-Terrorist Force, Frontier Corps and Anti-Riot Force.
Authorities will monitor main routes through aerial surveillance and CCTV cameras. They have also sealed shops, markets, plazas and commercial centres along procession routes in coordination with traders.

The Bomb Disposal Squad will sweep designated routes before processions begin. Security teams will also conduct snap-checking at multiple checkpoints.
Mobile phone and internet services will remain suspended in Quetta and other sensitive areas during the 10th Muharram processions, officials said.
The Balochistan government said the measures aim to ensure peaceful observance of Ashura and prevent any untoward incidents.
