An anti-terrorism court on Saturday awarded punishments to six accused in journalist Wali Babar murder case. The decision came after a long trial.
The anti – terrorism court announced death sentences to two absconders, Kamran alias Zeeshan and Faisal Moota and awarded life in imprisonment to Faisal Mehmood, Ali Rizvi, Naveed Polka and Shahrukh. However, one accused Mohammad Shakeel was set free due to lack of evidence.
Wali Babar, who was working for the GEO television network was shot dead in January 2011 in Karachi.
Due to sensitivity of the case, In November 2013, the Sindh government transferred the case from Karachi to Shikarpur.
