Security forces early morning today took control of the Mushtar area in Loralai District of Pakistan’s insurgency-hit southwestern Balochistan after militants ambushed and killed at least seven Frontier Corps (FC) personnel at a checkpoint.
“Paramilitary forces are searching for the attackers, who are suspected to be separatist Baloch rebels,” an FC spokesman told the media..
No one has claimed responsibility for the attack as yet.
Further details are awaited.
Balochistan, Pakistan’s largest but least developed and most sparsely populated province, is racked by Islamist militants, banditry and sectarian violence between Sunnis and Shiites.
