MQM Supremo rejected the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) report into Baldia factory arson.
Addressing foundation-stone laying ceremony of Altaf Hussain University at Bagh-e-Mustafa Ground overnight, Altaf directed his party to sue the members of the JIT for implicating MQM.
Altaf demanding death sentences for the perpetrators of the factory inferno said that another tragedy might happen if the people involved in the Baldia factory incident were not brought to book.
He also added that “It is illegal, immoral and against Islam to blame a political party for such an incident,”
He said no JIT was formed to probe great tragedies in Pakistan. He said that if any MQM activist was found involved in the incident, he must be hanged but a political party should not be blamed for actions of an individual.
Raising different questions over the JIT report, the MQM chief said, “Why was the JIT report not produced earlier? Why were the factory owners not called in when the ruling was made public? Who did set free Rizwan Qureshi—the man named in JIT report?”
Moreover, Altaf Hussain demanded, “If any MQM worker is found involved in the Baldia Town factory arson, he should be executed.” He remarked those responsible for Baldia debacle, will be penalized in this life and the life in Hereafter.
