Former Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhary has file a defamation lawsuit worth Rs 20 billion against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan .
According to sources, Advocate Taufiq Asif and Advocate Ahsan Uddin represented the ex-CJP and filed a lawsuit in a court of district and session judge in Islamabad.
PTI chairman had accused the former chief justice of his involvement in carrying out rigging in May 11, 2013 general election.
Chaudhary had sent a legal notice to Imran over ‘defamatory remarks’ against him after which a counsel of PTI chief issued a clarification.
The ex-CJ withdrew the notice after receiving Imran’s clarification.
