X Money began rolling out to selected US users on Monday, July 27, offering interest-bearing accounts, peer-to-peer payments and a Visa debit card within the X app.

The initial rollout targets X Premium and Premium+ subscribers following an invite-only testing period, The Verge reported.

Premium+ subscribers qualify for a 6% annual percentage yield. Premium subscribers can receive the same rate after meeting qualifying direct-deposit requirements, according to the official X Money website. The rate was accurate as of July 27 and remains subject to change.

The platform supports free transfers between X users, bill payments, wire transfers and mailed checks. Customers can also receive direct deposits up to two days early.

Its Visa card offers 3% cashback on eligible purchases, reimburses ATM fees and carries no foreign-transaction fee. Users can add the card to Apple Wallet.

Cross River Bank provides X Money’s deposit accounts, banking infrastructure and payment access. The bank said the partnership created the first US social media platform with embedded interest-bearing accounts, peer-to-peer payments, and a Visa debit card.

Cross River holds deposits with standard Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation protection of up to $250,000 per depositor. An automatic cash-sweep programme can provide aggregate pass-through coverage of up to $10 million across participating banks, subject to eligibility conditions and applicable limits.

X Payments LLC is a financial-technology company, not an FDIC-insured bank. Deposit insurance only protects eligible funds if a participating insured bank fails.

X Money uses passkeys for account access and allows customers to establish transaction limits and privacy controls. The product remains available only to selected US users aged 18 or older.
